The terminology of Karate - do. Glossary

KOKUTSU DACHI = a stance in which most of the weight falls on the back. It is referred to in English as the "Back Post".
KOSA DACHI = "Crossed-Leg Stance";
KOSHIN = "
= Method of resuscitation of a person who has lost consciousness as a result of strangulation or shock.
KUMADE = "Bear hand".
KUMITE = "Sparring".
KYOSHI = "Master Instructor". The level is given in the sequence RENSHI, KYOSHI and HANSHI
KYU = "Level". Any rank below Shodan.
KYUSHO WAZA = Pressure point detection technique.
MA-AI = Proper distancing or timing in relation to a partner. Since karate techniques always differ depending on circumstances, it is important to understand how differences in the starting position affect the timing
and application of techniques.
MAE = The front one.
MAE ASHI GERI = Kick with the front foot.
MAE GERI KEAGE = "Front kick with latch". Also referred to as MAE KEAGE.

MAE UKEMI ="fall / roll forward".
